What is an EDA?
A Conservative Electoral District Association (EDA) is essentially the local riding association of the Conservative Party of Canada. Its role is to connect the national party with the local community. Here are its main functions:
🔹 Key Functions of a Conservative EDA
- Local Organization of the Party
- The EDA is the official body of the Conservative Party within a riding (electoral district). We represent Windsor Tecumseh Lakeshore
- The EDA provides a structure for members and volunteers to participate locally.
- Candidate Nomination & Election Readiness
- Helps organize and oversee the nomination of the Conservative candidate who will represent the riding in federal elections.
- Prepares the riding to be “election ready” by recruiting volunteers, raising funds, and building campaign infrastructure.
- Fundraising & Financial Support
- Raises money to support both the local candidate and the national Conservative Party.
- Hosts fundraising events, donor drives, and community outreach to keep the riding financially strong.
- Community Engagement
- We act as the voice of Conservatives in the riding by listening to local concerns and bringing them to the national party.
- We build connections through events, town halls, and grassroots campaigns.
- Support for the MP (if elected)
- If the riding has a Conservative Member of Parliament, the EDA provides organizational and volunteer support and assists with their campaign.
- It is our responsibility to keep the MP connected with the local community.
Windsor–Tecumseh–Lakeshore Riding Update
As of the 2025 election period, the Windsor–Tecumseh riding has officially grown to include Lakeshore, creating the new Windsor–Tecumseh–Lakeshore electoral district. This change reflects the growth of our community and ensures that every voice is represented as part of the Conservative movement.
The Windsor–Tecumseh–Lakeshore Conservative Electoral District Association (EDA) is led by a dedicated team of volunteers committed to strengthening our Conservative presence and preparing for election success. Our Executive team consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Chief Financial Officer, supported by 30 Directors who bring diverse skills and perspectives to our work.
The Board of Directors plays an important role in fundraising, organizing events, supporting our candidate, and engaging with the community. Our Directors change yearly to ensure fresh energy and strong representation within our riding. A full list of the current Directors is provided below for transparency and recognition of their commitment.
Together, our Executive and Directors form a grassroots team that works tirelessly to keep Windsor–Tecumseh–Lakeshore organized, election-ready, and connected to the community we serve.
